Tretinoin is safe and effective in helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a fantastic topical treatment for premature aging of the skin and has been clinically proven to improve mild skin damage, fine wrinkles and discoloration when used with a comprehensive skincare program.
For many people, it’s very important to look and feel young. Many of us feel young inwardly, but we don’t feel like we look young outwardly. There are many new ways to combat the signs of aging, which are highly effective.
Tretinoin is just one of the ways we can fight the signs of aging effectively and safely
With all of the media hype surrounding anti-aging, it can be difficult to decipher which technique or product will work the best. What works best really just depends on which type of wrinkles you’re trying to cure and your skin type. It also varies according to the extent of the damage which has been done to your skin.
To start out with, it’s important for us to understand how and why our skin ages. Over time, as we age, our skin becomes thinner and less able to hold moisture. As elastin and collagen become damaged over time, your skin’s elasticity will decrease.
There are many options for treating damaged skin. You can use topical medications, Botox injections, laser resurfacing, dermabrasion and chemical peels are some of the most common methods of treatment.
Botox works by temporarily paralyzing the small smooth muscles of the face, but injections cost between $400 and $500. For best results, at least two injections are needed. Results of Botox injections typically last about six months.
Chemical peels use acids to destroy the uppermost layer of damaged skin and expose the fresh deep layers, which are healthier. Chemical peels typically cost between $1,000 and $2,000.
Dermabrasion is a mechanical method, which involves removing the topical damaged skin and it usually costs around $1,400. These types of procedures are painful, costly and temporary with associated risks.
That’s why using topical medications is considered to be a better choice, especially if you are seeking an option which is less abrasive. Tretinoin is a topical medication more commonly known as Retin-A. It’s been approved by the FDA since 1971 for the treatment of acne vulgaris (severe cystic acne).
It is derived from Vitamin A and works by altering skin cells by modulating gene expression. It speeds up skin cell turnover and reduces breakouts, leaving smoother and softer skin. It can also decrease skin discoloration and uneven skin tones.
