Overall Body Exercise To Prevent Wrinkles

Exercises are meant to relax the body and increase blood circulation; they tone up the muscles, stretch them to flex and keep the body fit.

Individuals can make lifestyle changes to delay aging.  This includes daily exercise as part of their lifestyle routine.  There are many ways for people to exercise, including gardening, walking, sports activities, and dancing.

If you’re just beginning an exercise program it’s a great way to stay physically healthy and stave off the aging process.

There are many ways for people to exercise, including gardening, walking, sports activities, and dancing. Patients who are beginning an exercise program should choose activities that fit their levels of strength and endurance.

You may have heard it said that wrinkles make men look wise and distinguished, and make women just look old. As today's baby boomers approach middle age, cosmetic sales are soaring. The most prevalent attitude toward aging today is, "age gracefully by fighting it every step of the way." Most bathroom cabinets are chuck full of jars, potions, elixirs and chemical peels designed to fool Mother Nature. Alas, wrinkles usually always prevail.

After the age of 25, the cells in the dermis begin to die off and become smaller. Skin begins to lose some of its elasticity and resiliency. Any shrinkage of tissue in the dermis causes a wrinkle in the epidermis. The dermis becomes stiffer as we age. The more the dermis is stretched, the greater the risk for developing wrinkles. Because the face and its muscles are so active, it can be the site of significant wrinkling.

Since many people worry about their faces there are exercises you can concentrate on for just your face.  There are 10 groups of muscles that make up the face and scalp, appearing on the forehead, in the cheeks, around the eyes, within the chin, around the lips, and finally in the neck.

Sagging face
If the muscles are not exercised and toned, the face will sag and portray an older look. By toning the muscles in it, you can give your face smoother skin, a natural lift, a younger look, and an overall brighter appearance.

1. Forehead
Firm up your brow, place your index fingers on your forehead just above your eyelids and pull them down while trying to raise your eyebrows. Repeat 10 times.

2. Eyes
Without moving your upper eye lids, attempt to raise your lower ones.  Repeat 10 times.

3. Cheeks
Push your lips out as far as possible to form an exaggerated "O" with your mouth, and then smile as brightly as you can, hold for 1 second form the "O" shape again and hold that for 1 second. Repeat 10 times.

4. Lips
Suck on the tip of your index finger, up to the first joint, as hard as you can, slowly pulling it from your mouth. Repeat 10 times.

5. Neck and chin
Using one hand place the index finger and thumb against the base your neck, looking straight into the mirror. Simultaneously raise your head and gently pull the skin down. Repeat 10 times.
