A massage performed by yourself or a professional can help keep your skin fresh and reduce wrinkles. Massage tones up the pores and tightens up the facial tissues.
Massaging the face is an easy and important part of beauty regime to keep wrinkles from developing. Besides softening the skin, another good effect of massage is that it stimulates blood circulation and removes dead skin.
Facial massage is known to tighten certain skin tissues that tend to go flabby and give the face a worn out look.
Massage is considered one of the oldest forms of healing. Regular facial massage can lead to smoother, firmer, more radiant skin by minimizing sagging and fine lines, releasing toxins and impurities, normalizing moisture balance, maximizing your skin's natural radiance and releasing tension.
You can fit a massage in at any time on your own by following these steps:
Step 1: Start with a warm wet washcloth-place it over your face and gently tap and press it to your skin while inhaling the steamy warmth.
Remember to take nice deep breaths. Oxygen helps the muscles relax.
Step 2: Apply a small amount of facial moisturizer lotion to the tips of your fingers and rub your fingers together. This will warm the lotion.
Step 3: Place your fingers on your forehead and gently glide them down from the forehead to your chin line. Repeat 2-3 time, increasing pressure with each glide.
Step 4: Glide from the forehead and stop at your temples and begin to make small circular motions with your fingertips. You can use the tips of your fingers or the pads of your fingers. Vary the pressure and the speed of the circles that you are making and also the pressure.
Step 5: Gently apply pressure to your jawline and chin by squeezing and pressing in with your fingertips. Smooth it out with a glide and end with circular massage at your temples again.
Step 6: Small circular motions to brow line, cheekbones, and finish with gliding from forehead to temple ending with circular fingertip massage.
Step 7: Massage your scalp as if you were washing your hair. Gently squeeze each side of the back of your neck with the opposite hand.
Step 8: Rub your palms together, and gently place over your eyes, taking 3 deep slow breaths. Have a glass of water or your favorite wine and relax!
Some other tips:
A light massage can be done without using any cream from the market by taking a spoonful of fresh milk cream and few drops of lemon juice added to it. It is natural so is safe for young and sensitive skin.
One can keep slices and chilled cucumber slices or cotton balls soaked on rose water on eyelids to relax them and to stop cream to enter the eyes.
