Often times we read about proper skincare of our face in order to avoid wrinkles. We know we’re supposed to have limited sun exposure and that we should be cleaning, cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing our faces twice a day for wrinkle prevention. But did you know that there is more that we can be doing than just basic skincare?
The object of doing facial exercises is to improve and strengthen muscle tone as well as to increase blood circulation and blood flow to your face. These exercises should be completed once or twice a day.
Facial exercises are a little known secret that may make the difference between premature aging and wrinkling or staying young and as vital looking as we feel
Each facial exercise should be completed ten times. Keep your facial muscles tight and make the sounds EE, AH and OH with your lips consciously stretched as much as you can without straining your facial muscles.
Open your mouth wide and roll your tongue as much as you can.
Sit straight, facing a mirror. Look up at the ceiling, stretching your neck as you do so. While remaining in the stretched upward position, turn your head to look over your left shoulder. Return to the front and then look over your right shoulder. Again, return to the front and lower your chin to the right angle position with your neck. This particular exercise is for the neck and double chin.
Sit forward, facing a mirror and clench your teeth hard, curling back your lips. Stretch the corners of your mouth as far apart as you can in a grimacing expression. Hold this contraction for six seconds and then relax. Now, thrust your lower jaw as far forward as you can, and then relax again. This particular exercise is good for a flabby jaw line.
Sit straight-forward, facing a mirror and suck in your cheeks and then blow them out, alternating between each cheek. Next, smile with one side of your mouth (only one side at a time), while pushing the half grin up and out. Repeat this process with the other side of your mouth. This exercise is good for fat cheeks.
Sit straight forward, facing a mirror and again, suck in your cheeks, blowing them out. Next, press both cheeks in slowly with your fingertips, but do not allow the air to come out of your mouth. This exercise is also good for fat cheeks.
Finally, sit straight forward, facing a mirror and open your eyes wide, raising your eyebrows at the same time. Hold this pose briefly and then lower your brows, bringing your eyes back to normal size as you do so. This exercise is excellent for furrowed brows.
