Crow’s feet are the fine lines and wrinkles at the corners of your eyes. They’re called crow’s feet because they typically sprout off the corner of your eyes, mimicking tiny crow’s feet.
Periorbital wrinkles, more commonly referred to as crow’s feet, tend to be a common occurrence as we get older, particularly for those of us who spend more time in the sun.
Crow’s feet are sometimes referred to as laugh lines or smile lines, but they don’t have to be a part of getting older
A lot of what we do contributes to how we look as we age. If we are born beautiful, it’s a wonderful thing, but if we grow into beautiful people, that’s something we’ve accomplished ourselves!
Squinting and smoking are the most common causes of crow’s feet, especially since smokers squint while they smoke because of the smoke getting in their eyes.
For women, crow’s feet begin to develop as early as 23, which means prevention needs to start early. Some people think that they don’t need to worry about those types of things until later in life, but the earlier you start to take care of yourself, the better!
Crow’s feet are also caused by squinting in general, even if you are not a smoker. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, chances are, you are squinting a lot. That’s one reason why it is so important to wear sunglasses. The skin around your eyes is very delicate and fragile and so you need to take measures to take care of it.
If you are implementing a daily skincare regimen, and I hope you are, it’s important you take extra care with the delicate skin around your eyes, using eye creams specific for wrinkle prevention. When applying cream around your eyes, be careful not to get any in your eyes and make sure you are applying it with your ring finger as this finger is one of the weakest fingers and will apply the least amount of pressure.
Don’t stop laughing because you’re afraid to get crow’s feet. Instead, take what precautions you can take, protecting your skin as much as possible, avoiding smoking and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and using a daily skincare regiment twice a day. Do not go to bed with your makeup on if you are a makeup wearer. Wearing makeup to bed adds years onto your appearance.
You should definitely be using a moisturizer and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. One reason the sun is so damaging to the skin is because it dries it out.
